I definitely agree that cacc and boxing are a great mix. In terms of striking, my primary priority is boxing. When fighting includes takedowns, I believe that boxing allows a person to keep their feet on the ground for sprawls. Personally, muay thai is my secondary striking art as I use it on an as needed basis. For fighting beyond sport competitions, staying on your feet and striking is critical due to the potential involvement of weapons, multiple opponents, avoidance, mobility and running.

I think I'd only use Muay Thai if I could get to the outside of their range and even then it'd likely be more knees and elbows.
