Hello all, I was wondering what is the relation between the Fig-4 face lock/choke(favourite of Tony Cecchine, shown for example on his Snap No Tap series) and the head chancery, that can be seen applied by Jim Londos here: assets.sbnation.com/assets/821830/LondosChancery.gifThe principle of the lock seems to be the same, yet the Chancery doesn't have that fig4 "bar". My question is: Is the Chancery a 'working' version of the Fig4? Ie purposefully not using the 'bar' so the move can be seen and 'sold', while the real version is the Fig4 one? Or are they both legitimate holds? I can see that the complete Fig4 is sometimes difficult to get; yet the chancery seems to be missing the 'squeeze' and is easier to turn out of....

Both legitimate holds, the Figure 4 Choke can also be known as a Figure 4 Chancery. Different grips for similar results, the Front Chancery has the neck in the V of the arm, the Figure 4 has the throat on the bar of the arm, or the neck / face is it's a facelock instead of choke.
