I've never heard of that myself, either. Though I can't imagine it'd be much different than his coache's, Masakatsu Funaki's.

Robinson grabs the tricep out of preference. If he can't get the Front Facelock, he's able to do a short arm drag and either grab a leg of take the back.
Cecchine grabs and pushes on the shoulder for the choke, but doesn't have the short arm drag option.
Both are correct as both are slightly different attacks. With the Front Facelock and grabbing the tricep, you stop them turning their head out of it, with the choke and the shoulder you make everything tighter for the constriction.

Thanks guys. I've had a lot of fun searching for those pics. Some of the pics are no longer available online now. That's sort of a disappointment, especially the Fred Grubmier pic. We might be able to find some through the internet archive, if you know which page addresses (http urls) they were originally on.

Great find, I've been bookmarking websites that have had a lot of these pictures on. I was thinking of archiving some things for the site, if I ever update it.

Yeah should be good, the one in Canada was a success. The King of Catch in California was apparently a success, but no videos have surfaced from Scientific Wrestling yet.

It may be necessary to take this to bullshido guys. They are the ones who keep track of frauds and such. I think they tend to be more interested in outing BJJ fakes, and maybe challenging TMA guys.

Thank you for the post. How much of Matt Hume's grappling program is actually Catch Wrestling based (from what he learned in Pancrase from Funaki), and how much has it been grappling integrated with other arts like BJJ?

Yes it can be, perhaps better setup when you have their near arm trapped, either scissored with your legs, or underneath them from a hammerlock.

Both legitimate holds, the Figure 4 Choke can also be known as a Figure 4 Chancery. Different grips for similar results, the Front Chancery has the neck in the V of the arm, the Figure 4 has the throat on the bar of the arm, or the neck / face is it's a facelock instead of choke.

I'm not aware of one. I know Matt Hume coached at Rich Franklin for a bit, but he's really based in Seattle, Washington.

There used to be this really cool bodyweight exercise video showing a circuit of plyometric type exercises on youtube, but I think it must have been taken down because I can't find it anymore.
I'm going to have to get into the habit of downloading youtube videos to preserve the really good stuff that was put out into the public domain.
