This is from the BJJ tournament at Best of the West 2010. The guy ('Kelly') wins with a Double Wrist Lock.
Now, it's easy to say it's just a BJJ Kimura, however Kelly's coach Sam Kressin (a BJJ Blackbelt & Level 3 Catch Wrestler under Billy Robinson) confirms the application is in fact a Catch style Double Wrist Lock.
Here's his explanation:

Here's his explanation:
There's so many different set-ups and variations of the DWL I've learn from Catch Wrestling but here's a few details you can see in this video. 1st Grab the wrist WITH the thumb (Not a monkey paw grip) Next this is subtle but Kelly doesn't try to lock onto his own hand right away with his "threading" arm instead he two-on-one's his opponents arm to create the pressure to break his opponent's grip. Also Notice how Kelly keeps his opponents arm pulled in short. He's not trying to paint brush or keep the arm in perfect figure 4 alignment. Next he pulls his opponent into him slightly taking his back off the mat. Kelly had to step over the head because the guys head was up so high to take pressure off the shoulder other wise he would have put the shin across the guys face. The arm is pushed up behind the back and away from the guy to create pressure on the shoulder.
The way I learned it in BJJ you don't pull the arm in short you don't stuff it behind the guys back, you don't two-on-one the arm to break a grip or apply better leverage and you NEVER grab with the thumb.
There's a lot more techniques such as pronate the forearm, goose neck the wrist and on and on that can help with finishing this lock but we didn't have to use them in this match.
