I have short stubby legs ( due to doing tons of squats, deadlifts, goodmornings and power cleans ), and I have a practically impossible time trying to score a triangle.
Can a triangle work for anybody? Should I just give it up and just attempt arm traped head scissors ( Strangler ) insted? Is it all possistioning?

It's difficult to say without seeing how you're trying it. What exact part(s) of the triangle are you having difficulty with?

Try using your arms to replace the functions that your legs can't carry out, bro.

You may be too straight on with the guy (if it's off your back). With the leg that goes across their neck, you may need to rotate yourself on the floor slightly ie if it's your right leg, rotate yourself counter-clockwise (use your other leg to push off their hip).

I actually went over this in class tonight, and say he trys to defend by keeping his arm at your hip.
Stick your fist in there and squeeze. You'll get it.

*bump*
any luck with hitting triangles lately? wondering if you can hit them when on top as opposed to being on your back, like attacking the turtle/ from scarf hold etc etc.?

Yeah there's a parallel triangle (180 degrees to the standard one) that can be chained to from Stockade position, or from attacking the back. There's also one from mounted position.

Hey Creep, finally found a video from Renzo Gracie that should hopefully help you out. Better late than never right?
